Theresa’s Punch Bowl Cake Recipe
Theresa’s Punch Bowl Cake Ingredients
- 1 box Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix (or any vanilla sponge cake
mix)
- 1 large & 1 small container of whipped cream
- 2 large cans of crushed pineapple (drained)
- 2 large boxes of vanilla instant pudding
- Pecans (pieces)
- 2 punnets of strawberries
- 6 bananas
Directions
- Bake your yellow cake mix as per directions on box
- Drain each can of crushed pineapple separately and empty each
can in two small bowls
- Prepare each box of pudding as per package instructions, put
each in a small bowl keeping them separate
- Then place in the fridge to set and cool
- Mash the first punnet of strawberries and add sugar to it and
set aside
- Repeat the same with the other punnet.
- 1st layer - when yellow cake is baked and cooled, crumble 1/2 of
it in the bottom of a pretty glass punch bowl
- 2nd layer - pour 1 chilled bowl of pudding over cake
- Then pour the first bowl of drained pineapple over the pudding
- Drain off the juice from your first bowl of strawberries
- Then add the strawberries over the top of your pudding
- Slice some bananas and cover this then cover with the whipped
cream
- Top with a layer of crushed pecan pieces
- Then start all over beginning with the rest of the cake and
continue in this same order
- When you have finished it will be really in pretty layers and
you need to keep it in the fridge until ready to serve.
